Powderama Manifesto

November 7th, 2011

I’m Simon Halliwell and I’m the founder of Powderama.

I settled in the Chamonix valley ten years ago after having completed the long and thorough British Association of Ski Instructors (BASI) ski teaching regime working for a French ski school. I’m now am a holder of the much coveted BASI Level 4 International Ski Teacher Diploma – one of only 300 Brits across the world I understand.

Now I have established Powderama to bring my own take on ski instruction and coaching. There are many of you out there who, whatever your level of skiing, really want to progress to a higher level.  With my no pressure approach and subtle suggestions of technique in a supportive learning environment with like minded others I seek to bring better skiing to everyone I coach. Most skiers, with the right support, can make big changes to their technique quickly and, with the help of tools such as video feedback, this is what I hope Powderama will do for you.

As a long term, independent local resident I also hope that I can help make the whole of your ski visit to Chamonix a good one.  Suggesting where to get your boots fitted or mended, which shops will do a decent service of your winter pride and joy, where to eat, or where you and your friends might ski when not “in class” all comes part of the Powderama experience.

Skiing is not a game to me, it’s my passion, and I hope to be able to enthuse and equip you to indulge your interest to the highest level.

Follow the blogs online, Facebook and Twitter to see what we’re up to.

I hope to see you in Chamonix this winter.
