Simon Halliwell

Simon Halliwell - Powderama Ski Instructor, Chamonix Mont-Blanc

Simon started skiing in Kitzbühel at the ripe old age of 3. Lancashire born, Scottish skiing was not too far away from home, an old horse stable (with no heating) in Newtonmore,  various youth hostels and occasionally  a 1970 VW combi allowed the family to ski regularly. A change to European skiing came in the early 80’s , numerous North American resorts, and two amazing seasons in Park City, Utah in the mid 90’s.

Teaching in Italy, Switzerland and France, and a permanent resident of Chamonix since 2002,  he is one of around only 300ish British ski teachers with the highest possible international teaching qualification, the BASI Level 4 ISTD. Having worked for a large ski school in the Chamonix valley and being a fluent French speaker means that he is well known whilst out on the mountain.
